Since I have not been the best blogger in 2013, I figured I would do this end-of-the-year questionnaire that I found on another blog instead of doing my normal yearly recap. When looking back at 2013, I see that I blogged less than 20 times...wow, what in the world got into me!! I am promising now that I will be a better blogger in 2014!!
1 - What did you do in 2013 that you had never done before?
I know this is nothing big, but one thing that I did in 2013 that I had never done before was ride on the beach in my dad's jeep.
2 - Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes...Katie gave birth to the sweetest little boy, Corban in April.
3 - Did anyone close to you die?
Brad's grandma Dot passed away in February. She was the sweetest woman ever. I do not know anyone who was more excited about going to see and be with Jesus than she was!!
4 - What dates from 2013 will remain etched in your memory and why?
This is something that I did not ever discuss on my blog, but is something Brad and I will never forget! On April 26, we found out that I was pregnant. When I took the test and it came back positive, I couldn't do anything but laugh...why, I have no idea. We were both excited for late December, early January, because our wish of becoming parents would come true.
On May 29, we found out that I had miscarried. This was something that I thought would never happen to us, but it did. We were both very sad, but knew that it was all in God's hands. As my birthday comes on this Sunday, January 5, what would have been our due date, I may be a little sad, but I will rejoice in that God has a special plan for our family.
Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
5 - Did you suffer any illness or injury?
Thankfully I have been pretty healthy this year; however, Brad had the stomach bug in January and pneumonia in December. Hopefully we will both be blessed with being healthy in the year 2014.
6 - What was the best thing you bought?
I guess the best thing would be remodeling our kitchen. Although we didn't buy a new kitchen, we did have to pay for the remodeling.
7 - Where did most of your money go?
I would say most of our money went to remodeling our kitchen.
8 - What songs will always remind you of 2013
I love a lot of different songs and music, so picking songs that will remind me of this year is hard to do.
9 - What do you wish you would have done more/less of?
I wish I had spent more time in God's word. He has done amazing things in my lifetime, and he deserves more of my time, so in 2014, I plan to do just that!!
10 - What was your favorite TV program?
There are many TV shows that I watch, but I think my all time favorite of this year would have been...
11 - What is the best book you read this year?
Ok, most of you probably know, but I am not a reader! The only book that I have even opened this year would be my Bible!!
12 - What was the best movie you saw this year?
I am not a big movie person either. Brad and I did get into watching movies this fall, but I am not sure I could choose the best movie.
13 - What did you do on your birthday? How old were you?
I turned 31 this year. Brad and I went to the beach with my dad. This is when we went riding on the beach in his jeep.
14 - Did you travel anywhere this year?
We went with the Beddards, Meeks and Radfords to Ocracoke. I had never been before, and we had the best time. I am hoping we will make this a yearly trip.
15 - What national/international event stirred you the most?
I would have to say the Boston Marathon bombing.
16 - Tell us a valuable lesson you learned in 2013
Although we went through some hard times this year, I look back and I am truly grateful for the year we had. God has a special plan for each and every one of us, and although the things we went through may have been difficult, we will continue to praise him through the storms!
I hope y'all have had a great 2013, and may you be blessed more and more in the year 2014!!
