Braden had his tonsils and adenoids taken out 2 weeks ago tomorrow. He has always had huge tonsils, so we knew this time was coming, we just didn't know when.
When I took him for his tubes follow up in December, I talked with Dr. Brodish about the tonsils and he said it was time. I have been wanting them out for a while, thinking it would only help with all the sickness, but then I was a nervous wreck...what was he going to be like waking up from anesthesia, what was the recovery going to be like, etc.
The day of the procedure, I did all I could do not to cry.
I was so worried he would get upset when they took him back, but going for a wagon ride made things so much easier.
Waking up from anesthesia wasn't as bad as when he woke up from getting tubes, but he still was not a happy camper.
All he wanted was his mommy, but couldn't get happy when that happened. It was very hard to satisfy him, but we got there.
On the way home he perked up, but was so sleepy.
Once we got home, I just knew he would sleep, but no all he wanted to do was play.
So, for the past 2 weeks, we have done a lot of laying around, watching tv.
Overall, Braden did great with his surgery. I was so worried he would get dehydrated, but he drank like a champ! So thankful in the power of prayer!!
