Celebrating 1 Year

Brad and I celebrated our one year anniversary this week in Jamaica!!  It is still hard to believe that we have been married for one year.

We flew out last Saturday.
(This was taken as we were flying over Cuba)
This year we stayed at Couples, Swept Away.
We spent every day on the beach.  We would get up and go eat breakfast, and then head out to the beach for the entire day.  Normally we would come in around lunch to eat and then rest in the air conditioner for a while, and then head back to the beach till it was time to get ready for dinner.
While we were on the beach, there were many locals that would walk up and down the beach trying to sell different things.

This man would sing as he was walking up and down the beach.  We actually bought one of his CD's.  Surprisingly, we have enjoyed it.
This man was hilarious!!  He was trying to sell cigarettes and Cuban cigars.  You could hear him coming down the beach, way before you could see him.  I wish I had recorded his voice, b/c it was too funny.
The food we had was delicious.  One night we had an appetizer that tasted like pizza crackers from Pizza Villa.
One of the things that we tried to do every night before dinner was to take a picture of us.  I am not one that likes to ask others to take pictures of us, so we did the best that we could do.

This first one is one that we took on our actual anniversary, which was Monday.

On our last night while we were eating dinner, there was a photographer walking around taking pictures.  He took this picture of us.
In order to save time on the day we were leaving, they allowed you to check out the night before.  While we were in the lobby, we asked a staff member to take a picture of us.
When we were on our honeymoon we got a couples massage, and knew this was something that we wanted to do again, so we did.  We booked our massage for Tuesday afternoon, but found out that men would be doing the massages, so we cancelled it. The next day one of the Spa ladies was out promoting the Spa on the beach, so we made another appointment.  Lets just say the massage did not disappoint...it was WONDERFUL!!

Now on to the excursion that we did on our anniversary.  As I said above there were locals selling different things on the beach.  Well, Elvis came up and asked if we were interested in para sailing or jet skiing.  After Brad found out how much it was, he told Elvis we would go para sailing.  He didn't even give me time to get my thoughts together.  Let me just tell you, I am scared of heights, and I still am scared of heights.

It was very peaceful while we were up there, but I was very nervous the entire time.  I don't think I smiled till my feet were back on that boat.  I now can say that I have been para sailing, but do not think that I will do it again!!

What is crazy is the safety guy got on the para sail with no life jacket or harness.  He about gave me a heart attack when he was hanging by his arms and doing back flips.
Besides spending money to get a massage and to go para sailing, we only spent $22.  And this is what we spent it on...
Yes this little thing of sunscreen that you can buy at Wal-mart for $8, cost us $22 at our resort...CRAZY!!!  We had to have it though b/c we didn't want to get too burnt and be miserable.

Well, we had a great time celebrating our first year of marriage.  It is hard to believe how fast 6 days can go by!!

Sorry for such a long post!
