Birthday Party

Whenever Braden was born, I knew I wanted his first birthday party to be pumpkin themed.
As soon as I saw this invitation on Etsy, I knew it was the one.

We had planned to have the party outside at our house, but the weather did not cooperate; so we had to move it to the Bowen's church.  It ended up being better than I had imagined.
I wish I had taken more pictures of the decorations.  We had a table as you walked in that had the treats for the children to take home, as well as, a book for everyone to sign.

The gift table was displayed with pumpkins on each end that held all of Braden's monthly pictures.  Here is the only picture I could find of the gift table, with sweet little Corban, who happens to be Braden's best buddy!
And then of course, there was the food table.  We served BBQ, baked beans, slaw and chips and dip for the adults.  The children were special enough to get Chick-fil-a nuggets! Shame on me for not taking pictures to remember!!

Elizabeth, aka Aunt Lizzy, did the decorations for us.  She knows how to decorate...not sure what we are going to do about decorations whenever the time comes for us to shower her.

We had lots of family and friends help us celebrate Braden's special day.  He is one blessed little boy.
After we had lunch it was time to dig into the cake.
I wasn't sure how Braden was going to do with the cake.
He was a little slow to begin with
 but finally dug in.
He did get excited over eating the cake!!
I was wondering if he was going to destroy the cake and he definitely did...
Definitely was not as pretty as it was when he started.

After we got him nice and clean, it was time for him to open his gifts.  Thanks to all the big kids for their help.
Braden got lots of clothes, books and toys.  He even got his first car from Pleasure Ride.
Thank you everyone for coming to celebrate our little man turning one.  This has been a crazy first year, but we wouldn't trade it for anything in this world.

Happy First Birthday Braden!!
