Christmas Traditions

Since I am behind in the blogging world, like normal, I figured I would just do one post of what we have been up to as far as celebrating Christmas. There are some Christmas traditions that we have been doing, and then there are some that we would like to add to our list.

We had someone new visit us this Christmas season. Braden was introduced to The Elf on the Shelf.  He named our Elf, Man.  Wonder how long that name will stay around.
Wearing Christmas pajamas is something I love during the Christmas season, so we made sure Man brought Braden some.

Attending Christmas parades has become a tradition for us.  This year we went to four different parades...Ayden, Snow Hill, Winterville and Greenville.
We added Snow Hill to our list of parades because Mary Griffin was riding in it :)

We have been attending Brad's parent's church for a while.  Braden just does so much better in a smaller setting.  We have enjoyed doing lots of things with church.  One Sunday we went Christmas Caroling.
Christmas Caroling was something I did as a child, so I hope we can continue to do this while Braden is young.

Braden was also in the Christmas play at church.  He was a shepherd boy.
He was more interested in Baby Jesus!

Every year I have taken Braden to see Santa.  This year did not go as well as the others.
The Friday before Christmas we went to look at Christmas lights as a family.
After we would pass a house with a lot of lights, Braden would say "find some more!"

On Christmas Eve we always make a birthday cake for Jesus.  It is my prayer that Braden will always remember the true reason for the Christmas Season.
And of course, we had to make cookies for Santa.
And my most favorite Christmas tradition of all is sending out Christmas cards.  My mom started this tradition the year I was born, so between us we have 35 years worth of Christmas cards!
Merry Christmas from our home to yours!!
