When Brad bought our house three years ago, there was an above ground pool, with a wrap around deck. Due to pools being high maintenance, Mr. Bowen said that we would not be allowed to keep it. I would have loved to been able to enjoy my summer weekends out by the pool, but one it would have been too expensive to keep up and two who has the time to keep it up.
So, with that being said, Brad tore down the part of the deck that wrapped around the pool. Over the past month or so Brad, with the help of Bryant, worked very hard to rebuild the deck. They tore down all the railings and the actual floor of the deck, so all that was left were the joists.
After they replaced the floor of the deck, it was time for the railings to go back up.
As the railings were being replaced, I kept telling Brad the deck looked so much larger than what it looked like before. He told me it was because I was used to having railings on only two sides of the deck for so long.
As you can tell from the picture above, the flower bed needed to be replaced as well. That was a project that I was allowed to be involved in. Last week Brad and I worked extra hard to have it all complete for the pig pick'n. Take a look at our new deck. I am in love!!!
You did a great job honey!!
