Yesterday we hosted the Second Annual Pig Pick'n. Brad and Bryant have started a tradition of wanting to cook a pig every year. They weren't able to do it last year, due to our schedules being crazy b/c of the wedding, so they were excited when they could do it this year.
The weather was perfect yesterday. It was sunny and warm during the day, but if you were in the shade there was a good breeze to cool you off. After the sun went down, it was lovely. We stayed outside ALL DAY LONG!!
They were able to put the pig on around 10:30, so everything was ready around 7:15.
Between Katie, mom and I, we fixed baked beans, potato casserole and then picked up some slaw as our sides. Katie and Elizabeth made the dessert. Katie, I think you need to post the recipe on your blog for the dessert you made. I think it was a hit, b/c there is no more!!! Elizabeth made brownies and they were great!
Everyone came a few hours before the food was ready, so it was so nice to just sit around and enjoy each other's company.
While the adults were socializing, these two (Anna Kate & Connor) enjoyed playing in the pool.
Once the food was ready, it was time to chow down.
After everyone was full from the meal and dessert, we socialized some more. We all sat around and watched Bryan Meeks and dad play corn hole. Sorry Bryan Meeks, you got beat...GO DAD!!!
I know one that thoroughly enjoyed himself yesterday.
Jacques was in and out all day long. Today he has laid around the house. I guess having everyone over yesterday has worn him out!!
Thanks Brad and Bryant for a great Pig Pick'n. You both did a great job!!
Until next year...
