Johnathan's birthday was the Friday we were on our honeymoon. He wanted us to get together when we got back so we could celebrate. Last Monday, he invited us over to his house for hamburgers and hot dogs. While waiting for our dinner to be ready, the boys played a little corn hole.

Thanks for having us over Johnathan. Hope you enjoyed your birthday...I can't believe you are 24 years old!!
With last week being our first week at home as a married couple, we have had a lot of adjusting to do. There have been many loads of laundry washed and getting the house cleaned and organized. We still have a ways to go in the organizing department, but we are getting there.
In order for us to save money, we have decided to cook dinner during the week. Last Tuesday night was the first night I cooked for Brad, as my husband. He went back to work Tuesday, so while he was there I went to the grocery store, and got things to make his favorite meal...I must say it is a delicious meal.
Chicken & Wild Rice Casserole
(recipe at end of post)
I even fixed tea, and we used the tea pitcher and glasses that the girls gave me at the monogram shower.
We did well cooking dinner last week, and off to a good start this week as well. Jacques even enjoyed some of my good cooking last week.

Here is the recipe for the Chicken & Wild Rice Casserole.
1 box of Uncle Ben's long-grain wild rice
3-4 cups of cooked, diced chicken
1 can of French-style green beans, drained
1 can of cream of celery soup
1 cup of mayo
1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese
Onion Powder, I just sprinkle some in
Salt and Pepper to taste
Cook rice according to package directions. Mix together chicken, green beans, cream of celery soup and mayo. Place in a greased casserole dish. Top with cheese if desired. Back on 350 for 30 minutes.
Hope you try this meal and enjoy it as much as Brad and I do!!
