July 4th and Count Down

What a wonderful weekend we have had celebrating July 4.  I got up early Saturday morning and went to the beach.  The weather was perfect!  I sat on the beach until about 5:00, and probably could have stayed down there a lot longer.  That night we had lots of good food to eat...roast, string beans, peas, fresh corn on the cob that was the best and potato salad.  The food was excellent.  After we ate we played 7-Up, which is a card game that my Grandma Flowers taught us all years ago.  Every time we get together, we love to play, and we always have cheaters!!!

Sunday morning I woke up and went to the river.  Brad's dad's birthday was Saturday, but we celebrated Sunday.  The weather on Sunday was just as perfect as Saturday.  Mr. Mike brought the boat down to the river, and everyone had a great time tubing and just cruising around.  Mrs. Judy and I spent most of our time out on the dock, soaking up the sun!  We had a lot of fun, and enjoyed a delicious dinner out on the porch.

Now that it is July 4, we are on the count down to the wedding.  With us getting married on Saturday, the festivities start on Friday with a Bridal Luncheon and Rehearsal/Dinner.  We are all getting so excited, but still have plenty to do.  I am off work for the week, so at least I have a couple of days to finalize all that we have left.  I would have never thought that the past 6 months would have gone by soooo fast.  I can honestly say, that I am so glad that we have had a short engagement, because  I would drive myself crazy if I had too much time to plan everything.

Thanks to all the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom!!

Happy July 4th!!!
